Gene Glasco is the founder of the Arcadia Vietnam War Monument. Because of Gene’s hard work and determination, the memorial was unveiled on May 28, 2016 in the Arcadia County Park. Gene served six years in the United States Navy. He spent fourteen months in Vietnam as a Radioman in support of US Navy riverboat activities in the Mekong Delta. After honorably serving his country, Gene returned to Arcadia and dedicated his life volunteering in numerous capacities. Gene has received countless awards for his years of community service in Arcadia. We express our sincere gratitude to Gene Glasco, for honoring our brave men from Arcadia who lost their lives in service to our country.
We honor our hometown military hero, Adam Rosema, Arcadia High Class of 1998, for his service to our country. During his time at Arcadia High School, Adam was an active member of the marching band. A plaque now sits in front of the Arcadia High Band Room for students, staff, and any visitors on campus to remember Adam’s bravery and ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
